We were watching some Twitch.tv streams for Dungeons & Dragons, the popular tabletop RPG that's transcended the tabletop and can be played online. It was cool to see game masters and dungeon masters tell a story and build worlds and to see the party co-operate to defeat the enemies and get the treasure.
So we thought...how would we do that? How can we play Dungeons & Dragons online with a virtual tabletop and virtual character sheets and all that? Here's what we found out on how to play Dungeons & Dragons online with your friends.
Virtual RPG Tabletop: Fantasy Grounds
Basically with Fantasy Grounds, each player downloads it and the GM/DM is the host of the game. The players join and everyone can see a map and manage their character sheet. The app comes with battlemaps if you upgrade to the Standard license, there's 26 of them so there's plenty of variety for the various battles going on during a D&D campaign.
Fantasy Grounds is available on Windows, Mac and Linux (through WINE emulation).
Roll20, a virtual tabletop for RPGs and board games
Roll20 has two major advantages: you can play in a browser and it's free. That means you and your buddies can login to a Roll20 session and play on a virtual RPG tabletop very quickly. Roll20 has integrated voice and video chat too (through WebRTC). This means everyone can stream the game and play together without installing additional software. Dice rolls are in 3d and there are plenty of character sheets available.
Oh and did I mention that Roll20 also has an Android and iPad app?

Here is a list of the best headphones for gaming. Please note that a few of the selections are based on other people's reviews and a few of them I have personally owned (I will indicate which ones).
While it's nice to play video games on a TV with a nice 5.1 or 7.1 surround system and hear the shouts and roars of gunfire and cool orchestral music of Destiny 2 and other games, it's not always possible. This is especially true for mobile/tablet games where the sound quality can be a bit tinny or can annoy people around you.
So here's a list of the best headsets for gaming.
Yep, this is your last chance to play Iron Banner of the Season of the Drifter. If you're in Canada you have a long weekend to play Iron Banner! Yay! That means you can collect the "Heavy as Death" emblem after completing the Iron Banner Triumph "Now You're Just Showing Off". Destiny 2 has really added a lot of cool triumphs to complete, there's so many I'm not even sure I'll be get through them all. How many triumphs have you done? 10? 100? All of them?

The TRS80 Gaming Group is named after the TRS-80 computer. It's a computer from 1977 that was created by Tandy and sold through RadioShack. The TRS-80 Model 4 was released in April 1983 and featured a 4 MHz CPU, an 80x24 column display, and 128KB of RAM. Wow. That's nothing like today's computers but for the earlier days, it was an awesome and fun machine.
In honor of the TRS-80 name and where our gaming site's name comes from, here is a list of TRS-80 emulators! Some of them will work on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. There's also an emulator that works on Android.
